Tailored for the most demanding operators, the EC225 is an 11-ton helicopter integrating all the latest technological innovations. The two TURBOMECA MAKILA 2A1 engines, the main gear box and the 5-blade rotor give this machine the power for a high payload, along range and a fast cruise speed. Its flight endurance exceeds 5 hours 30 min. Most of all, this aircraft meets the latest JAR 29 amendments, including the 30-minute dry run demonstration for the main gear box.

  Oil & Gas Missions

  The EC225 is the preferred choice of oil and gas operators. The integration of the latest technologies makes this new generation aircraft the leader in the field for flight safety. It is designed with flaw damage tolerant components (rotor and fuselage). Its state-of-the-art avionics considerably reduces the pilot’s workload and thus enhances safety.  Comfort and sound levels meet today’s highest standards. The EC225 complies with the latest JAR29 amendments. Moreover, the mission role change from passenger transportation to light SAR is easy and quick thanks to:

  An unequalled level of safety

  Certified for flights in known icing conditions, the EC225 allies modern technologies to reach unequalled levels of safety : 30 minute dry run main gearbox, self deployable emergency floatation device, TCAS II (Traffic Collision and Avoidance System) linked to the Autopilot.

  The wide air-conditioned cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 19 passengers on new energy-absorbing seats in staggered configuration, allow for more shoulder space between passengers.

  In the case of an emergency, all windows are large and push out to allow easy egress and thus quick and easy access to integrated life-rafts. To increase the baggage space, extra large lateral sponsons can be added.

  Aerial Work

  With its lifting power capacity, endurance and manoeuvrability, the EC225 is always up for the most rigorous hot and high missions and sling work. The high performance of the EC225 allows for easy sling operations. Thanks to the VMS®, pilots can concentrate more on their missions. During sling load transportation, the helicopter is very stable thanks to its 4-axis auto-pilot and the design of its landing gear. Its powerful engines and hook capacity allow for heavy lifting. Certified equipment and proven procedures ensure high levels of safety.

  Maintaining and repairing the National Grid using helicopters is a huge responsibility, which involves a large variety of demanding missions, including:

  • Human External Cargo (HEC) or Insulator cleaning system to maintain or repair power lines - even on livewire - while avoiding a blackout
  • Pylon assembly in mountainous areas (minimization of the human footprint by avoiding road construction in the wilderness)
  • Cable laying for a growing electrical grid once pylons are built
  • Other aerial work activities such as team transportation, loading, pruning, etc.

  Executive and VIP Transportation
  

  Eurocopter has built-up a worldwide reputation in designing and producing executive helicopters. • Training
  

  With more than 50 years of experience, Eurocopter training centers provide the most comprehensive, coherentand highest standard of helicopter training in the world for pilots and technicians, whether civilian or military. Qualification training, allowing operators to comply with regulatory requirements, and services training, more mission oriented and tailored to the customers’ operational needs, are available. All training courses are established according to the relevant civil aviation authorities’ requirements. The centers are approved by the relevant airworthiness authorities (EASA, FAA, DGAC, LBA, CAA…). We are certified ISO 9001: V2000 and regularly audited by independent organisms such as VĂ©ritas, AFAQ, etc.

   

  

  Eurocopter training centers provide a wide range of courses and services, from basic training up to preparation for the most sophisticated civil and military missions. As part of the full range of service offers, Eurocopter also plays an active role in helicopter pilot development through its Ab Initio programs.
